About the Role

Punjab Curry Club (ABN 22 065 315 299), located in Wellington Point, QLD, is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Chef with a passion for preparing high-quality food and contributing to the efficient day-to-day operation of our kitchen.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have:

An Advanced Diploma, Diploma or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Kitchen Management, or a relevant equivalent qualification.
At least 1 year of relevant work experience, or equivalent experience to supplement the qualification.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
A sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
The ability to work effectively as part of a busy kitchen team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes in accordance with menu specifications, quality standards and customer preferences.
Planning and developing menus.
Monitoring food quality, portion sizes and presentation standards.
Requisitioning food stock, ingredients, materials, supplies and kitchen equipment.
Checking the quality of ingredients and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
Supervising and coordinating kitchen hands and other workers engaged in food preparation.
Planning, directing and supervising food preparation and cooking activities.
Analysing recipes and assisting in determining menu prices based on food, labour and overhead costs.
Ensuring meals are prepared and served in a timely manner while maintaining consistent quality.
Liaising with kitchen staff, food service staff and restaurant management regarding customer orders and general kitchen operations.
Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic working environment.
Ensuring the proper storage of food and appropriate cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, utensils and implements.
Following workplace health and safety, accident prevention, first-aid and emergency procedures.
Maintaining appropriate food safety and hygiene standards throughout kitchen operations.
