Muse Culinary Events is looking for an experienced hospitality operator who loves making things work.

We're a family-owned catering and events company delivering weddings, corporate functions and private celebrations across Melbourne and regional Victoria. We also operate The Chandlery, our private event venue in Port Melbourne.

We're looking for someone to take ownership of the moving parts behind every event: the people, rosters, equipment, stock, vehicles, venue setup, suppliers and logistics.

THE ROLE

Working directly with the owners and alongside our Event Manager and kitchen leadership team, you will:

Plan event staffing, equipment and logistics
Prepare FOH rosters and lead our casual event teams
Coordinate pack-outs, bump-ins and bump-outs
Keep The Chandlery organised and event-ready
Manage beverage stock, suppliers and external hires
Oversee equipment, vehicles and operational storage
Monitor labour and operational costs
Attend and lead key events
Build practical systems that improve the way we work One week you might be preparing The Chandlery for a private celebration and planning a regional wedding pack-out. The next, you could be leading an event team, managing suppliers or improving an operational process.

ABOUT YOU

You might currently be a Venue Manager, Functions Manager, Restaurant Manager, Catering Manager or experienced Event Supervisor ready for greater ownership. You'll bring:

Strong hospitality, catering, venue or events experience
Experience leading FOH or event teams
Rostering and labour-management skills
Excellent organisation and attention to detail
Confidence managing stock, suppliers, equipment and logistics
Calm decision-making and proactive communication
A current driver's licence
Flexibility around an events-based schedule Most importantly, you take ownership. You anticipate what's needed, communicate early and follow things through.

THE DETAILS

Full-time position
$85,000 + superannuation
Performance bonus of up to 5% of base salary
Some evening and weekend work based on the events calendar
Genuine scope for progression
