The Aviary Hotel Abbottsford is seeking a talented Head Chef to join our team and take our Abbotsford/ North Richmond Pub

Who are we?

We are your friendly local pub with a Parilla to cook over Coals - we provide the 3067 with genuine char grilled local produce and ice cold locally sourced beverages to wash it down with.
We have multiple amazing function spaces and use them regularly to host and cater to all kinds of events.

About the role: Ideal Candidate:

As Head Chef you will drive the day-to-day kitchen operations, menu creation, staff training, recruitment, quality control and all areas of kitchen profitability including payroll and rostering.

We seek a chef who can work autonomously but also exemplifies leadership through positive attitude and actions.
This individual must have previous experience at Sous Chef level or higher, demonstrate a proven track record in effectively managing wage expenses, cost of goods, staff turnover targets, and enhancing revenue.
Additionally, they should possess strong technical skills.

Experience with cooking over fire and charcoal is advantageous, but not crucial.

Maintain exceptional food safety, hygiene and Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards
Lead and oversee day-to-day kitchen operations
Deliver consistent, high-quality food across all services
Refine and execute menus in line with the venue's direction
Train, mentor and manage kitchen team performance
Maintain exceptional food safety, hygiene and Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards
FSS Certificate
Manage stock control, ordering, wastage and food costs
