Overview

Collie Steel's mature Transport Division seeks an experienced Diesel Mechanic to assist with the servicing and maintenance of its fleet of transport and ancillary equipment. This fleet provides services to an array of industries throughout Western Australia and specifically throughout the West and South West of Western Australia. This is a full-time position based in Collie, WA 6225, offering a competitive salary of $80,000 - $82,000 per annum.

Responsibilities

Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on heavy transport vehicles and ancillary equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults to ensure optimal fleet performance.
Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work undertaken.
Collaborate with the Transport Division team to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workplace health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic, ideally within the transport and logistics industry.
Relevant trade qualification, such as a Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with experience in heavy vehicle electrical and hydraulic systems.
Knowledge of Australian Design Rules (ADR) and WA heavy vehicle regulations.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a small, dedicated team.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
Valid Australian driver's licence; HR licence or willingness to obtain one is advantageous.
Full Australian working rights are required, as visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
