Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to take on a senior
Head of Unit position within a supportive and expanding regional health service.

The Opportunity As
Head of Unit – Obstetrics & Gynaecology, you will provide strategic and clinical leadership while remaining actively involved in the delivery of specialist care.
Your role will include:
- Providing strategic and clinical leadership for the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Unit.
- Helping shape the future direction and development of women's health services.
- Providing high-quality clinical care across antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal and gynaecological services.
- Leading, mentoring and developing multidisciplinary teams.
- Fostering a culture of collaboration, professional development, accountability and high performance.
- Driving service innovation, quality improvement and clinical governance.
- Promoting safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care.
- Building strong relationships across the health service and wider community.
- Supporting workforce development, sustainability and access to high-quality women's health services.
- Mentoring and developing junior medical staff.
- Contributing to improved health outcomes for women, babies and families throughout the region.

About You We are seeking an experienced Obstetrics & Gynaecology clinician who is ready to take the next step into senior clinical leadership.
You will be:

Essential Criteria To be successful in this role, you will have:
- MBBS or equivalent
- Fellowship of RANZCOG, OR
- FRACGP / FRACRRM / Vocational Recognition with significant GP Obstetric experience and appropriate RANZCOG training.
- Eligibility for Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- Demonstrated senior clinical experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- Strong clinical leadership, governance and service development experience.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- A commitment to patient-centred, culturally safe and high-quality care.
- Successful completion of required employment screening and health/immunisation requirements.
Relocation Support The health service recognises that relocating for a senior medical leadership position is a significant decision and offers flexibility to assist candidates making the move.
Depending on individual circumstances, support may include:
- Flexible relocation assistance
- 4–6 months' temporary accommodation for interstate candidates
- Initial FIFO arrangements may be considered
This flexibility can make the transition significantly easier for candidates relocating from interstate or considering a move to South Australia.
