An opportunity exists for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Korumburra office of our well established and expanding legal practice. Our South Gippsland offices are growing, and two positions are available for the right candidates.
This is a busy and varied role suited to someone who enjoys responsibility, shows initiative, and is eager to learn. The position combines personal assistant and law clerk support with front of office reception and general administration duties, in a practice dealing exclusively with criminal and family law matters.
The Role
In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and personal support to our legal practitioners while also being the first point of contact for clients attending or contacting the office.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Answering phones, greeting clients, and managing incoming and outgoing communications with professionalism and discretion
- Providing personal assistant support, including diary and calendar management, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings
- Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal correspondence, court documents, and forms to a high standard
- Managing electronic and physical filing systems in accordance with firm procedures
- Opening, maintaining, closing, and archiving files, including processing incoming briefs
- Monitoring and managing key deadlines such as court dates and filing requirements
- Liaising with clients, barristers, courts, and external service providers
- Assisting with billing, time entry, invoicing, and follow up of accounts
- Managing mail, emails, and confidential information with care and accuracy
- Ordering office supplies, coordinating maintenance requests, and supporting general office operations
- Assisting with travel arrangements, accommodation bookings, and itineraries as required
- Undertaking ad hoc administrative and personal tasks as directed
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have an interest or background in reception, legal administration, or general secretarial work, and a positive, can do attitude.

Previous experience in a legal environment (particularly criminal or family law) will be highly regarded but is not essential for the right candidate. Formal study or qualifications in law, legal studies, or criminal justice will be viewed favourably.
