Live and work riverside in the Australian bush: Coolendel Camp is a large riverside campground on 130 acres of bushland with 3km of private Shoalhaven River frontage, located around 3 hours south of Sydney and 45 minutes from Nowra. We host campers, families, school groups, festivals, and nature lovers across camping areas, cabins, and glamping tents. Guests come here to swim, kayak, fish, hike, relax around campfires, and experience the Australian bush. We are looking for a highly reliable, practical, and independent person to live onsite and manage the day-to-day operation of the camp while reporting to offsite owners/managers. This is NOT a role for someone who needs constant direction or supervision. IMPORTANT: Please only apply if you meet these requirements This role suits someone who: Can confidently work alone and manage responsibilities independently Is highly organised and proactive Has excellent spoken and written English Is comfortable communicating regularly with offsite management via phone calls, messaging, and written reports Can confidently speak with guests face-to-face and over the phone Is practical, hands-on, and good at solving small problems independently Is comfortable living remotely in a bush campground environment Understands that weekends and holidays are our busiest work periods If you struggle with communication, reliability, self-management, or following routines without supervision, this role will not be suitable. The Role This is a live-in, hands-on position working 5 days per week, including weekends, with days off during the quieter midweek period. You will often be working alone and will be responsible for the daily operation and presentation of the campsite. Daily duties include: Guest check-ins and customer service Taking bookings by phone, email, online, and in person Providing safety information and campsite directions Cleaning amenities blocks, cabins, glamping tents, and common areas Housekeeping and maintaining presentation standards Operating and monitoring water pumps and generators Monitoring water, gas, and power systems Grounds upkeep including mowing, rubbish runs, path clearing, and general maintenance Running the camp shop including restocking supplies Communicating daily updates and reports to offsite management Responding calmly and professionally to guest issues or operational problems This role requires someone who notices issues before being asked and takes initiative to keep the property clean, safe, organised, and operating smoothly.
