The Opportunity Join a collaborative team of experienced consultants, registrars, resident medical officers and interns, supported by dedicated nursing, pharmacy and allied health teams.
The department provides comprehensive paediatric services including:
- General inpatient paediatric care
- Specialist outpatient clinics
- Emergency paediatric services
- Regional outreach clinics
- Neonatal services
- Diabetes and chronic disease management
- Developmental and community paediatric services
A key feature of the service is the
Level 4 Special Care Nursery, providing advanced neonatal care and respiratory support for newborns.
Key Responsibilities You will:
- Deliver high-quality paediatric care across inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings
- Manage complex neonatal and paediatric presentations
- Provide specialist support to regional and rural facilities throughout Central Queensland
- Participate in outreach clinics and telehealth services
- Supervise and mentor registrars, junior doctors and medical students
- Lead quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives
- Participate in the consultant on-call roster
- Contribute to service development and innovation across the region

Remuneration & Benefits Total remuneration package up to
$550,085 per annum, including:

Requirements To be considered, applicants must possess:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Paediatrics and Child Health, or equivalent specialist qualification
- Specialist Registration with AHPRA, or eligibility for registration
- Broad experience across General Paediatrics and Neonatal Care
- Commitment to high-quality regional healthcare delivery
- Strong interest in teaching, mentoring and clinical leadership
