Your new role
As a Planning Specialist, you will provide project planning, scheduling and controls support across a portfolio of mining projects in the development and study phase. Working closely with project teams and key stakeholders, you will be responsible for ensuring schedules are robust, accurate and aligned to project objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6
- Establish, manage and control project baselines and schedule changes
- Complete regular schedule updates, progress tracking and variance analysis
- Deliver critical path analysis, look-ahead planning and schedule reporting
- Support Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and performance analysis
- Facilitate planning workshops with engineering, procurement and project teams
- Conduct schedule risk assessments, scenario planning and forecasting activities
- Provide schedule impact assessments for project changes and emerging risks
- Support project governance, stage-gate reviews and reporting requirements
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in project planning and scheduling within mining, heavy industry or EPC environments
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6
- Strong understanding of project controls, schedule management and critical path methodology
- Experience developing and maintaining resource and cost-loaded schedules
- Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and reporting
- Ability to perform schedule forecasting, risk analysis and scenario planning
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Experience supporting capital projects during study, development or execution phases will be highly regarded
