Your new role
We're seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction Trades Assistant to join a busy Mackay workshop. Working in a sheltered environment, you'll play a key role in the refurbishment, maintenance and preparation of transportable buildings.
This position is ideal for someone with a construction, carpentry, trade assistant or building maintenance background who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in delivering quality results.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting tradespeople with repairs, maintenance and refurbishments
- Re-sheeting walls, repairing door frames and completing general building works
- Operating hand and power tools
- Cleaning, pressure washing and preparing buildings for delivery
- General workshop and yard duties
- Forklift operation (if licensed)
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in construction, trades assisting, carpentry or building maintenance
- Strong experience using hand and power tools
- Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Contactable work references
- Must be living locally in Mackay
