Wood & Bone is looking for an experienced Senior Front of House professional / Supervisor to join our small team, with a genuine opportunity to progress into a Restaurant Manager role.
We’re an independent 55-seat steakhouse focused on premium Australian produce, exceptional beef, BBQ and seasonal seafood, complemented by a carefully selected Australian wine list.
Being a smaller restaurant, our approach to hospitality is personal. We value warm, knowledgeable service without unnecessary formality — professional and attentive, while allowing guests to feel genuinely comfortable.
We’re looking for someone who understands that great hospitality is about much more than taking orders.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on senior position for someone confident running a service, looking after guests and setting the standard for the FOH team.
You’ll work closely with the owners and gradually take greater responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the restaurant.
The role includes overseeing service, reservations and table management, opening and closing procedures, staff supervision and training, functions and events, and maintaining the presentation and atmosphere of the venue.
Strong food and wine knowledge is important. You should be comfortable discussing different cuts of beef, cooking methods, seasonal dishes and wine recommendations naturally and confidently with guests.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll ideally have several years of experience in quality restaurants and previous responsibility as a Senior Waiter, Supervisor or Assistant Manager.
We’re looking for someone polished and confident, but never pretentious.
Someone who notices the details, reads the room, remembers guests and understands how to create the kind of service that brings people back.
You’ll be organised, reliable and calm under pressure, with strong communication skills and the ability to lead a small team by example.
Most importantly, you’ll genuinely enjoy hospitality and taking care of people.

A genuine 4-day working week, with Sunday, Monday and Tuesday off, providing three consecutive days away from the restaurant each week.
