70 inpatient beds, 24/7 emergency care and plans for further expansion, Gladstone Hospital is continuing to develop its specialist services and work towards
Level 4 services and Destination 2030.

The Opportunity As a
Staff Specialist in General Medicine, you will provide high-quality specialist medical care while contributing to the ongoing development of the service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing specialist General Medicine services across the hospital.
- Participating in the current 1:3 after-hours Consultant on-call roster.
- Leading patient assessment, admission, ongoing management, transfer and discharge.
- Supporting the delivery of timely, high-quality patient care and NEAT targets.
- Providing professional leadership, supervision and education to Registrars, junior medical officers, medical trainees and students.
- Supporting staff development, workplace learning and clinical performance.
- Contributing to outreach and telehealth services across Central Queensland.
- Promoting evidence-based clinical practice, clinical governance and risk management.
- Participating in continuous quality and service improvement.
- Contributing to clinical teaching, seminars, research and academic medicine.
- Maintaining ongoing professional development and College requirements.

About You You will be a Consultant Physician with specialist expertise in General Medicine and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
You will have:
- MBBS or equivalent
- FRACP in General Medicine
- Specialist registration with AHPRA
- Current participation in relevant CME/CPD
- High-level knowledge and clinical skills in General Medicine
- Demonstrated ability to manage patients throughout assessment, admission, treatment, transfer and discharge
- Experience managing acute and complex medical presentations
- Strong multidisciplinary leadership and teamwork skills
- A commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff
- Experience or demonstrated commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, clinical education and knowledge sharing
Remuneration & Benefits The total remuneration package is valued at
up to $572,732 per annum, comprising:
