Staff Specialist Anaesthetists to join the medical teams at
Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.

Your Role The successful candidates will provide high-quality specialist anaesthetic and related care to patients across
Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals.
You will also contribute to the development of junior medical staff through:
- Supervision and training of registrars
- Supervision and education of junior medical staff
- Training and support of other healthcare team members
- Participation in a collaborative multidisciplinary clinical environment
- Delivery of high-quality, patient-centred anaesthetic care
Private Practice OpportunityEstablish Your Private Practice on the Fraser Coast For
Senior Medical Officers, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to establish private practice outside their Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service appointment with local private hospitals.
Support may include:
- Use of local private hospital sessional rooms to assist with establishing a private practice
- Assistance with credentialling and administrative requirements
- Support to establish local referral pathways
- Introductions to local GPs, physicians and surgeons to facilitate referral networks
This provides an attractive opportunity for an experienced specialist to develop both a public hospital career and private practice presence within the local community.
Remuneration & Benefits We are offering a competitive remuneration package valued at
up to $564,548 per annum, including:
- Base salary of $192,257 – $281,545 p.a.
- Employer superannuation contribution of up to 12.75%
- 17.5% annual leave loading
