Consultant Psychiatrist to join its
Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Service at the Warrnambool Campus.
This permanent full-time position offers

Warrnambool and Victoria's Great South Coast offer an outstanding opportunity. The Opportunity As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide
clinical leadership and governance to a multidisciplinary case-management team delivering comprehensive psychiatric care to consumers with both high and low prevalence mental health conditions.
The service operates an
integrated model of care, allowing you to work across community and inpatient settings and support consumers throughout their recovery journey.
You will join a highly supportive team of experienced Consultant Psychiatrists and clinicians, with access to:

The Consultant Psychiatrist will participate in the
on-call roster and, where possible, the
ECT roster.

About You You will be a Consultant Psychiatrist who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred mental health care and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
You will bring:
- FRANZCP or equivalent specialist qualification
- Eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA
- Experience providing assessment and treatment to adults with major mental illness and psychological challenges
- Strong clinical leadership and governance capabilities
- A collaborative approach to working with consumers, families and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to evidence-based psychiatric practice
- The ability and enthusiasm to teach and supervise Registrars, junior medical officers and medical students
- An interest in quality improvement, audit, research and mental health service development
- An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, Australian culture and Indigenous heritage where applicable
Professional Development & Teaching SWH places a strong emphasis on education, training and professional development.
The role provides opportunities to contribute to the development of the medical workforce, including supervision and teaching of Registrars, junior doctors and medical students.
The
Deakin University Clinical School is co-located on the Warrnambool campus, providing an additional academic and teaching environment.
