South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a motivated and dedicated
Unaccredited Oncology Registrar to join the cancer care team at the
Warrnambool Campus on a
12-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior doctor looking to
consolidate their oncology skills, strengthen their clinical experience and build a strong foundation for future formal advanced training.
Working closely with experienced Consultant Medical Oncologists, you will gain hands-on exposure to the management of oncology patients across both inpatient and day oncology settings, while becoming an integral member of a multidisciplinary cancer care team.
The Opportunity The role provides broad clinical exposure and close supervision within a supportive oncology environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day clinical management of oncology patients under the direction of Consultant Medical Oncologists.
- Assessing and reviewing patients within the Day Oncology Unit.
- Managing oncology patients admitted to the acute medical wards.
- Participating in consultant-led ward rounds.
- Attending and contributing to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
- Participating in unit audits and quality improvement activities.
- Working collaboratively with nursing, allied health and other medical staff.
- Communicating effectively with patients and their families.
- Supervising and supporting junior medical staff where required.
