Consultant Psychiatrist to join a progressive mental health service in
Bundaberg, Queensland, providing specialist psychiatric care to people with
intellectual disability and/or autism spectrum disorder.

The Opportunity The successful Psychiatrist will provide expert psychiatric assessment and management across intellectual and developmental disability services.
The role will predominantly involve
Consultation Liaison support to community and inpatient mental health teams, with the opportunity to maintain a small cohort of direct patient care as part of the
Intellectual and Developmental Disability team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and management
- Supporting patients with intellectual disability and/or autism spectrum disorder
- Providing Consultation Liaison services to community and inpatient mental health teams
- Participating in multidisciplinary assessment and treatment planning
- Providing professional leadership within the Mental Health service
- Working collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals
- Supporting high-quality, recovery-focused and person-centred care
- Contributing to clinical education, supervision and service development
Private Practice Opportunity The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to
establish a private practice alongside their public appointment, with support available through local private hospitals.
Assistance may include:
- Access to private hospital sessional rooms to assist with establishing a private practice
- Support with credentialling and administrative requirements
- Assistance in establishing local referral pathways
- Introductions to local GPs, physicians and surgeons
- Support in developing a sustainable private patient base

Remuneration & Benefits A highly competitive remuneration package is available with a total package value of
up to $564,548 p.a., including:
- Base salary of $193,191 – $282,912 p.a.
