About the role:
As a Retail Manager at Bite Me-Mug Me, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the café and takeaway business, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient store performance, and achievement of sales and profitability targets. The role requires strong leadership, operational management, and customer service skills to maintain high standards across all aspects of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management
Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the café and retail outlet, ensuring all activities are conducted efficiently and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Monitor workflow, service standards, and operational performance to ensure smooth business operations during peak and non-peak trading periods.
Develop and implement operational procedures aimed at improving productivity, service quality, and profitability.
Staff Leadership and Human Resource Management
Recruit, interview, select, and onboard new employees in accordance with business requirements.
Conduct staff training and ongoing development programs to enhance product knowledge, customer service skills, and operational efficiency.
Prepare and manage staff rosters, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained to meet customer demand and operational requirements.
Customer Service and Relationship Management
Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently maintained throughout the business.
Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries, concerns, and complaints, implementing appropriate solutions to maintain customer satisfaction.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and customer loyalty.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management
Monitor stock levels and maintain appropriate inventory to support business operations without overstocking or stock shortages.
Coordinate purchasing activities and place orders for food products, beverages, packaging materials, and other operational supplies.
Liaise with suppliers and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and supply arrangements to ensure cost-effective procurement.
Financial and Sales Management
Monitor daily sales activities and analyse financial performance against business targets and budgets.
Prepare sales reports, operational reports, and business performance summaries for management review.
Manage cash handling procedures, reconcile daily transactions, and ensure accurate financial record keeping.
Marketing and Business Development
Coordinate local marketing initiatives, promotional campaigns, and customer engagement activities to increase brand awareness and sales.
Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for business growth.
Assist in developing and implementing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing clientele.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety legislation, food safety regulations, and relevant industry standards.
Implement and monitor policies and procedures relating to food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety.
Conduct regular workplace inspections and address potential hazards promptly.
Strategic Planning and Business Improvement
Work closely with business owners and senior management to develop and implement business strategies and operational goals.
Evaluate operational processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Analyse business data and performance metrics to support informed decision-making.
Candidate must have:
1-2 years previous experience as a Retail Manager.
Be able to work within a team to continue to meet the high standards expected excellent communicate.
Relevant qualification of industry skills or proven experience
