The Opportunity As a
Staff Specialist Otolaryngologist – ENT, you will provide high-quality specialist care across inpatient, outpatient and operating theatre services while contributing to the ongoing development of ENT services across the region.
Your role will include: - Lead specialist ENT care across inpatient, outpatient and operating theatre settings.
- Provide evidence-based assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients requiring specialist Otolaryngology care.
- Contribute to strengthening and developing ENT services across Central Queensland.
- Participate in the ENT after-hours on-call roster.
- Support patients across the wider Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service through outreach and telehealth clinics.
- Opportunities may include service delivery across Biloela, Emerald, Gladstone, Woorabinda, Capricorn Coast, Barcaldine and Longreach.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, hospital services and community partners.
- Contribute to clinical governance, clinical audit, quality improvement and service development.
- Provide supervision, teaching and education to undergraduate and postgraduate clinicians.
- Contribute to research and maintain ongoing professional development and specialist expertise.

About You You will be a qualified specialist Otolaryngologist with broad clinical experience and a commitment to high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
You will bring:
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Qualifications and experience required for Specialist Registration in Otolaryngology in Australia.
- FRACS (Otolaryngology) or evidence that you have commenced the RACS comparability assessment.
- An appropriate College CME program.
- Broad clinical experience across Otolaryngology.
- A strong commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
- Excellent communication and clinical documentation skills.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to teaching, supervision and professional development.
- An interest in service development, clinical governance, audit and research.
Remuneration & Benefits The total remuneration package is valued at
up to $564,939 per annum, comprising:
- Base salary rates between $223,136 – $259,187 p.a.
- Higher salary rates between $266,836 – $282,912 p.a.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
